Recap of the Allegro User Day 2021

Knowledge exchange above the roofs of Leipzig

Recap of the Allegro User Day 2021

After almost two years, this year's Allegro User Day took place above the rooftops of Leipzig on September 23, 2021. The Felix Club offers not only a beautiful panorama of the Augustusplatz with numerous sights but also an upscale ambience with atmospheric ceiling lighting - ideal for knowledge exchange.

Starting with coffee and a welcome from our managing directors Klaus Degner and Katrin Pflugfelder we started into the 3rd Allegro User Day. We were delighted to finally enjoy face to face customer contact again and to exchange ideas with known and new users.

In addition to the presentations the users exchanged ideas with the developers of the Allegro Network Multimeter in personal discussions. Presentations covered topics such as burst and TCP analysis, SIP and Pcaps, packet ring buffer, virtual link groups, IP groups and many more. In addition to the main presentations, there was also time and space for individual dialogues with our staff. Allegro User Day is a great opportunity to talk to the people who develop and know the equipment best. It is important for Allegro Packets that users do not just own a device but know how to use it in different cases to support troubleshooting in the best possible way.

Another innovation this year were the smaller break-out rooms. Each of the four rooms had a topic where people could both talk about it with the corresponding expert or use the time for individual questions, feedback or feature requests. In addition to the various application scenarios and use cases, all the devices in our product portfolio were also on display. A highlight in the hardware room was a brand new device, which was exclusively presented to our visitors. Of course, we do not want to reveal any further details at this point - but you can be curious!

Regular, small coffee breaks with numerous selections of delicious snacks loosened up the presentations and allowed additional time for exchange. Moreover, there was a delicious lunch buffet at Felix with a selection of barley risotto, curry, vegetable skillet, fish, chicken and many other delicacies. Of course, a little sugar was not to be missed to keep everyone going - for dessert we had sesame brownies, yum! The atmosphere at the meal was very relaxed and offered a contrast to the bustling downtown Leipzig, which we viewed from above in the sunshine.

In the afternoon, we then ended the presentation program with an outlook from the management on the upcoming features and plans for the next year. The educational part was over, we said goodbye to some of the guests who were unable to make the social program, for which there was a change of location.

We were especially lucky with the weather this year and caught a late summer day in autumn, we walked from the Felix Club through the city center to the boathouse. The city tour was very special because our tour guide was none other than our Managing Director Katrin Pflugfelder, who showed some of the beautiful and well-known corners of the city. The visitors: inside now strolled on the Augustusplatz, which they had looked at from above before and merged into the big city hustle and bustle themselves. Here, they had an up-close look at the impressive university building. During the walk, our visitors admired the St. Thomas Church, the New City Hall and the beautiful, green Clara Zetkin Park.

At our final location, the boathouse, the canoe trip started right away. Our most motivated colleague, Georg, grabbed three customers and a boat and set off. On the waterways of Leipzig, both customers and our employees were able to relax in the quiet nature. On the way back, there was an exciting moment when all canoe teams had to pass a boat slip. Fortunately, the slide was harmless and no one went swimming in the water.

Meanwhile, a delicious oriental buffet and cool drinks were already prepared and waiting for the adventurous. This included a lentil soup and numerous appetizers as well as a great vegan vegetable ragout and lamb shanks for the meat-eaters. Everyone was well fed and enjoyed the sunset and the quiet murmur of the water with a beer, a glass of wine or a coke.

The relaxed atmosphere throughout the day gave rise to many diverse conversations, for which we would like to express our sincere thanks. It was a great day and we are glad that we could hold the event despite the current situation. We were very pleased about the enthusiasm of our customers in getting to know more about the Allegro Network Multimeter and are already looking forward to another User Day soon.

Don't miss the aftermovie with the highlights of this year's User Day.
