PPPoE module

The PPPoE module shows all PPPoE sessions and traffic within a certain session.

Web interface

The PPPoE page shows on top a global graph for both PPPoE discovery and PPPoE session traffic. PCAP buttons allows for capturing that particular protocol. Discovery packets can also be extracted together with LCP packets.

A table shows all PPPoE sessions with its session ID, used authentication protocol (PAP or CHAP), authentication state and link configuration state. The PACP button allows for capturing that particular session.

Timing

For every PPPoE session the start and termination time is shown if corresponding PPPoE discovery PADS or PADT packets have been seen. The session duration is calculated based on those times. The first and last activity is updated according to session traffic. In case PADS or PADT have not yet been seen, the activity times will be taken into account for duration calculation.
