As an advanced packet-based network analysis and (performance) troubleshooting solution, Allegro Packets is capable of recognizing a long list of protocols to be found in various Ethernet-based network types. Apart from the actual recognition, Allegro Network Multimeter also features extensive individual decoding and graphical representation for quite a lot of commonly seen communication protocols such as TCP, SSL, SIP, RTP, DNS, DHCP, IEC 60870-5-104, PROFINET and many more.

== TLS certificates ==
=== I get the message "Your TLS Certificate is about to expire soon. Please renew your certificate.", how can I renew it? ===
By default, the Allegro Network Multimeter uses a self-signed certificate that expires after 10 years. 2 weeks before expiration, this dialog appears to inform the user.
How to solve the issue:
# To create a new self-signed certificate, go to Settings -> [[Administration#TLS/SSL certificate|Administration]] and the TLS certificate section. Click on "Reset TLS certificate configuration" to delete the old, expiring certificate and a new certificate is created automatically.
# Reload the browser window, accept the new certificate to finalize the step.
For higher security, CA signed certificate can be uploaded manually or via ACME.
