Allegro Network Multimeter Cloud Edition Features
Packet-Level Analysis and Troubleshooting for Cloud and Virtual Networks
- Full packet analysis, L2–L7 — actual packets, not sampled flows or metrics
- Runs on AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-premises — the same engine everywhere
- Selective, retroactive pcap extraction at scale
- Real-time search, filtering, and email alerting across all layers
- Portable, capacity-based licensing — move it between instances and clouds
- Deploys entirely within your own environment — your packet data never leaves your control
Flexible Deployment and Scalable Performance
The Allegro Cloud Edition brings full-fidelity packet-level analysis to cloud and virtualized environments, where native tooling typically offers only sampled flow records and aggregated metrics. It runs on AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, as well as on-premises on Windows or Linux with a supported hypervisor such as VMware, QEMU, Hyper-V, or VirtualBox.
Cloud environments can make troubleshooting difficult when users report application or network performance issues, and typical monitoring data does not provide enough detail to determine the root cause. Flow records and aggregated metrics can show that communication is taking place, but a deeper investigation requires packet-level information. The Allegro Cloud Edition provides this level of detail in cloud and virtual environments. Because it works from the actual traffic, it reveals network performance problems, application behavior, and communication between individual systems.
The Allegro Cloud Edition analyzes live virtual traffic and pcap files the same way Allegro appliances analyze packets over the wire, with connection tracking, history, and IP analysis. Pcap analysis can start immediately, without waiting for the complete file to load. Selective packet extraction across Layers 2–7, plus real-time search, filtering, and email alerting, support detailed troubleshooting. The web-based interface is identical to that of the physical Allegro appliances and provides statistics across IP, MAC, L7 protocols, and TCP transmissions.
The Allegro Cloud Edition scales from a low-cost notebook for portable analysis to large cloud instances for high-volume live capture and large pcaps. Processing speed scales with the number of available CPU cores, while capacity scales with the RAM available to the in-memory database, up to the limits of the selected license tier. Licensing runs through a license server, so licenses can be moved between instances and clouds as requirements change. The solution deploys entirely within your own environment, so packet data never leaves your control.
